LMIA (Work Permit)
Worker Visa
Foreign nationals who want to work in Canada require a work permit. There are two types of work permits issued by Canada such as: 1. Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP), 2. International Mobility Program (IMP).
The TFWP offers work permits for candidates whose employers obtain a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). A positive LMIA confirms the foreign worker shortage for the employers to fill the job for which no Canadian workers are available.
IMP work permits do not require a Positive LMIA. The employer for IMP work permits needs to submit the employment offer under their portal.
